Ray's Harvest House

Great chicken salad croissant, but we did not care for the chips. Friendly, efficient service though!

Ray's was a decent restaurant for a quick bit. The food was simple and arguably bland, but it did the job to fill my belly. The prices were great and the actual location was quaint and convenient (right off the highway).

Typical liittle roadside greasy spoon. Average food and hot coffee plus a couple local farmers talking baling machines. Tried the smoked brisket but suspect they don't smoke it despite the waitresses long explanation of how they do it. It was uniformly brown and dark and lacking any smoke flavor whatsoever and I also suspected it had been microwaved and way over cooked. Went there thinking I'd have some nice fresh fried chicken and was told that they were simply processed chicken breast that they then fried. I said that's not my idea of fried chicken. unless you're a local you'll never find the place so I suggest going to Miller's chicken in Athens instead. That's the real deal.
