Symmes Tavern On the Green

Nice location and patio; very large portions of food and oddly cheap prices. However; we were told there the draft beer system was out...but people had pitchers of beer as we left. The food was not very good...meatloaf and pot roast with dry red potatoes/carrots and overcooked green beans. They could have left out the green beans entirely, sprayed some butter on the potatoes with a sprinkle of rosemary and put a nice glaze on the meatloaf...but as a whole, the meal was tasteless. We were served yellow mayonnaise instead of butter which made things worse. The "Bar Rescue" guy is needed!

Got a jack and coke, they don't make their drinks weak and the service is friendly. Good food, not just regular bar food.

Symmes Tavern On the Green has so much potential! It has a good setting with an outdoor area with bands that play at times. The service tends to be slow. The food is not bad, but has a lot of room for improvement. If the service was improved along with the menu this would be a great place. As it is I would say it isn't bad, but not living up to its potential.
