I like this place, a bit too much bread for me, but I love the atmosphere, the music, the service.
I wouldn't recommend the mushroom burger, it's like ground mushroom, or maybe chopped. I've had marinated portabello mushroom burgers that I loved, but this didn't come close. The regular hamburger is probably the way to go, or the other vegetarian options.
I'll come back sometime though.
Nice, neighborhood feel. Staff (esp. Lolly:) is fabulous. Wings are dynamite! Highly recommend coconut-orange-lime. Grilled bologna hoagie was inspired & the burger was very good with a mushroom pattie.
This is a solid 3.5 star burger place, and a nice place to grab a pretty good burger and perhaps an adult beverage or two. One thing I'll say to start is that this place is not as amazing as all of my friends were telling me it is, which I include in case you are hearing the same: it is best to go into any hyped-up place with lower expectations than people inadvertently create. That is true here, too.
Anyway, their burgers are solid, their service is decent (check ALL to-go orders BEFORE you leave, they have consistently forgotten items in my orders), and they tend to have a couple of nice beers on tap. Certainly a solid option for food if you are in the area, but not the kind of must-visit that I would recommend going out of your way for.
Very fair prices. Liked the U-shaped benches around each table. The food was hit or miss for me. I didn't care very much for the milkshake - seemed like it was soft serve ice cream whipped up. The burger was good, but not very exciting. I did enjoy the pasta salad, had a little kick to it and the twice baked potatoes were pretty tasty.
Small but mighty menu in this clean, open, eclectic space. Solid service. Comfortable atmosphere. Personal standouts: celery root app, fried bologna sandwich, and the BOOZY shakes.
