The food was okay. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything great either.
I ordered the Mediterranean octopus, the beet carpaccio, and the prime short rib.
I didn’t feel that the quality of the food at Bistro on the Falls matched their price point.
The octopus wasn’t the worst, but it was a bit on the chewy side. In comparison to somewhere like Sangria Y Tapas in Westlake, Bistro on the falls fell short.
The beet carpaccio was average. Four slices of pickled beets, with some mozzarella and balsamic. Nothing you couldn’t make at home in less than 5 minutes.
The prime short was okay. It was a little dry, but overall worth eating. It would have been nice to have some type of vegetable served with this entree, as opposed to just a big portion of mashed potatoes. Also, there was no sauce with the meat. However, there was a “pesto-type” garnish around the dish.
Again, for the price point of Bistro on the falls, it just doesn’t hold up to a restaurant like Luca West.
I understand that they recently just opened and perhaps they will continue to improve, but I was hoping for more from Bistro on the Falls.
On a positive note, the service was good. The owner came by our table to greet us and thank us for dining, which was welcoming. Our server provided me and my wife with complimentary champagne, which was nice. The ambience was nice and more upscale than other restaurants in the area.
In short, I wouldn’t overtly recommend Bistro on the falls to someone. However, I wouldn’t advise them not to dine there either.
Grand opening experience was phenomenal! Our server, Tony, was attentive, thoughtful, and had an extremely amicable wit about him! Kixksy, the bartender, is a local legend in Olmsted Falls and makes every guest feel like family. The food was outstanding. My friend and I both had the ribeye which was cooked so perfectly that, though I can never get him to stop talking, he fell silent for the duration of the meal. Portions greatly justify the price, including desserts. Mouse cake and Cheese cake were delicate, airy, and delicious. If you need a sign to check this resaurant out, this is it!
Finally an upscale restaurant with an upscale menu in Olmsted Falls! We had dinner last night on opening night. Everything was fantastic. Manny was our waiter and did a perfect job, knows the menu inside and out and was very attentive. The short ribs were delicious as were the salmon with risotto and the ribeye (we shared our entrees). All great. Definitely get the octopus for an appetizer. Marcelo the owner made his rounds to check in guests at every table. Bistro on the Falls earns a 10 star from us!
