Salty Mary's Oyster Bar and Tavern

Let’s start with the drinks: the oyster shooter was nice opener, with its beautifully spiced bloody mary in the flavored salt rimmed glass, and of course that ocean-y surprise at the bottom: the lone raw oyster waiting to punctuate the shot with a taste of the sea.

The Salty Mary bloody mary with fried clam was just as good as the shooter, except with more bloody mary and a great snack with the fried clam and cheese cubes.

The broiled and raw oysters in the half shell were both wonderful starters too: the broiled oysters seasoned with garlic and butter and wonderfully salty, while the raw oysters tasted fresh and light with herbed citrus and cocktail sauce.

The catch of the day was the seared salmon over a bed of “forbidden rice”. Salmon had a great sear and was seasoned well.

I also appreciate how there’s an option to buy the kitchen staff a round of beer. We absolutely took that opportunity, as a way to tell them that they’re doing a great job and that the food they’re making is delicious. The wait staff was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable too. It was overall a great restaurant experience. Will definitely be visiting again!

Salty Mary's is in the process of it's soft opening I guess, soI had to check it out! Got right in this evening and the place was full, not uncomfortably packed, just full. With it being a new place I prepared for the worst, but hoped for the best. I was very pleasantly surprised with everything I got!! I got the fried Oysters and they were so good I had to try the broiled oysters as well, which were also delicious! For my entree I tried the blackened walleye sandwich, which ruled. Everything was great!! The food was surprisingly inexpensive for a seafood joint!! My only criticism was being charged $10 for a virgin bloody Mary! Still an overall great experience, can't wait to go back!

FABULOUS! A MUST to try this new restaurant in Westlake with first-class service and food so delicious it will leave you craving to go back soon! Our server, Sara, was outstanding at explaining the menu and providing excellent service. We requested non-alcoholic drinks and the bartender personally came to our table to specifically assist us. OUTSTANDING!! The Chef checked on us and even brought out some of our meal. Every individual we encountered was friendly, professional and helpful. The food was also excellent! We had various Oysters, Shrimp & Grits, Walleye Fish & Chips, and Cinnamon Crumb Bundt Cake (a must to order - YUM). Everything we had was delicious! This was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences and we look forward to going back soon!

We were very excited to try out a new restaurant. They have the best food I’ve ever eaten. I would really recommend their grilled oysters. They were definitely very unique. All the other food was excellent as well and cooked to perfection. We ate their calamari with shishito peppers, broiled oysters, raw oysters, bbq shrimp and grits, and the dirty martini dip. Their drinks were amazing and thank goodness for not being overly sweet. They paired very well with the food. They have a lot of low carb and super healthy keto options as well. Very flavorful food- we will definitely be back soon.
