Captain D's

I have not been here in a few years, because I have just not had the desire to eat greasy fried fish. It's a lot like Long Johns Silvers, so if you are a fan of fried sea food, then this is the place to go. I guess they serve other healthier options, but if I'm eating seafood at a fast food chain, I'm not eating healthy.

The fried fish reminds me of Arthur Treacher's????. Quiet family atmosphere and inexpensive but I don't recommend the kid's meals. Overall... good!

This is the closest Captain D's to our hometown area. We drive about 45 minutes one way a few times a year to visit this restaurant and then take our food to a local park for a picnic.

Plus side: Fried fish, grilled salmon, seafood are all good, often surprisingly better than you would expect from a fast food fish place.

Critiques: side sizes are all noticeably smaller than our last visit, about a year ago. Mozzarella sticks are less cheese and more breading. Nearly everyone in our party of five found themselves still hungry with what used to result in leftovers.

I came in right at the end of the dinner rush on the first Friday of Lent and was amazed at how good the service and food were. The place was packed, but they were doing an excellent job at keeping up with the rush. The staff was friendly and polite and all of my food was good. I will be sure to visit again.

This restaurant seems to be busy. This is a nice place to eat at as it is usually very clean & tidy!! I went inside to order To Go!! Staff had been very helpful as usual. I don't live in Defiance, so it is a treat to go there!! Thanks so much for reading this review of a seafood lover!!
