When I walked in to place an order, the first thing I noticed was the wall of pinball machines. 8 brightly lit, old and new machines. I came in at 4 on a weekday so it was not busy at the moment, still I was checked out quickly with a smile.
They only have one size of gluten free crust(12in), but that's an industry standard at this point. Their alcohol selection is varied from what I can see, but I wasn't looking to get back on the road, so I got a coke product.
All the art seems to be done by different local artists, and they have gender neutral bathrooms, which is always a plus! Very Alt/Cult vibes, and they were playing movies that theme as well, such as the newest Chucky film.
The gluten free crust was one I was not as familiar with. It looks like it should have the snap of most thin crusts, but it was actually kinda fluffy and chewy. Had a very butter forward taste, I would not be surprised if this is a different supplier from the rest of the local gluten free pizza. If you are GF and are looking for something new, give them a try! They don't skimp on the cheese or toppings!
Loiee G’s is such a fun restaurant concept! The place is owned by two local ghost hunters and they cultivated such a cool vibe in the restaurant. We walked in the door and were immediately greeted by the sight of their pinball machines, cute liquor display and some of their delicious food showcased in a glass case.
The food was all absolutely fantastic. We ordered the meatball appetizer, the garlic knots with marinara sauce, and a half-cheese/half-pepperoni 14 inch pizza. I quickly devoured one and a half meatballs, two garlic knots and two slices of pizza. I would have kept going but I wanted to save some to take home so I could experience the same happiness at home later. The meatballs were so flavorful, the garlic knots were the best I’ve had in Ohio and the pizza was so good! I’m a crust girl and the crust was A+. I also got the Dracula’s Kiss cocktail which was refreshing and adorable.
All of the staff we encountered inside were so warm and welcoming! They added such a lovely touch to a great experience. Thank you all - we’ll be back soon!
Up front: for Delaware, it’s decent pizza. No frills pizza joint with pinball machines.
Beer & liquors available.
You pay up front and the food is brought to your table.
I’m definitely not a pizza snob. I’ve had the benefit of growing up in NY. I know what pizza is.
I guess there’s a difference between “NY style” & NY pizza.
A “slice” is simple, sublime and satisfying.
The crust should be thickened at the crust end, with “blisters” from the pizza oven.
The base should be thin, a little floppy so you can fold it up and eat it. A drizzle of oil falling off slice is expected. The chewiness/crispy ratio is key.
At Loiee G’s, the pie seems small by NY pie standards. The crust was dense, almost cracker like. No fluffiness. The sauce is ok, not memorable. The slice stood out-up like a piece of cardboard. No bend, the chewiness wasn’t because of the dough , it was because the crust was so dense. The cheese was a little sparse. I expected a thicker layer (for basic cheese pie).
Amazing pizza! Homemade dough, sauce and ranch.
We have been getting their pizza shortly after they opened and couldnt be happier. Best pizza in Delaware,Oh right now in my opinion.
They are one of 2 places that actually deliver to my work (pickle shack) on 42 by section line and hooked us up along with the members with 15% off if you order through the QR code they sent us.
Pizza has been on point every single time. It is so good when they delivered it that I knew it was killer if you had it in person and sure enough it was. Just recently tried their wings and my goodness, if you like wings, you need to try these. Paired with the house made ranch it's over the top!!
They run daily lunch specials in store and have slices on demand if you don't want a full pie.
If you haven't already definitely check this place out
