Rancheros Mexican Restaurant

I walked into the restaurant and was immediately greeted with a warm and upbeat vibe. The restaurant appears to be clean unlike some other Mexican restaurants in the NKY area. I am vegan and was able to get the bean burritos topped with red sauce and lettuce (no cheese). The food was really good. The chips were a little “thick” for my taste, but the salsa was good. I had two bean burritos with red sauce and lettuce on top for 10.50. The portion size was good, although a bit pricey. Unfortunately their Mexican rice has chicken stock so it is not suitable for vegans or vegetarians. I would like to see the recipe changed so that the Mexican rice is made with vegetable stock rather than chicken stock so it would be vegan/vegetarian friendly. If they made that change and then made a vegan dish of bean burritos and rice they could really draw in the vegans/vegetarians thereby increasing their customer base. My waitress, Courtney, was patient with my questions on the ingredients of the food. The customer service is excellent there. Courtney kept checking back with me to make sure I did not need anything else, but not so much that I would find it intrusive. I rated the restaurant four instead of five stars simply because they could do a better job of catering to vegans. Overall great restaurant - I will be back!

Found our new favorite! This place has the feel of a high end restaurant with great prices and great food. Very friendly staff and the food came out fast and fresh. The margarita chicken was my favorite. Found this place from an ad in town saver and decided to give it a try, glad we did!

Really good food! Took some time to get food, but really nice waitress. A little pricey but you get big portions so it's worth it.

Good, may upgrade rating. They have sunk some $$ into this place. Nicely decorated, not your average Mexican restaurant. Service is so so. More attentive to friends than clients. Not terribly busy but the bartender and assistant manager were having a conversation with two patrons at the end of the bar, and not attending other customers. Menus don't match interior; sort of a Denny's spiral bound notebook. Given the decor I would have expected a more upscale menu and offering. Food good not great. This is better than your average Mexican restaurant; at least compared to local Mexican offerings but without more promotion, better service and food, it likely will struggle to turn a profit.

Food was pretty good. Seemed a bit pricey but good. Dinner soda and queso for four plus tip was almost $80. Service was great. Wait staff was very friendly and food came out super fast. Will definitely go back.
