Cock & Bull Public House Hyde Park Square

For an "English" pub the fish and chips was dreadful. To begin with when we ordered and said fish and chips the server asked if I really wanted chips or if I wanted the french fries I was confused because in the menu it actually is "fish and chips" which is described as French fries and if you want "chips" they are called "crisps" so why did they have to ask if I wanted them? Then it took forever to get our drink orders.To be fair we were a fairly large group (more than 10) but we were essentially the only people there and there were other servers. We asked for a bottle of wine and I was given a glass which. When the food finally arrived it was disappointing. The fish was overcooked and tasteless with a crust so thick I had to cut it open just to get to the actual fish. Thankfully the fries were fine and the hamburger my friend had looked good so the food isn't terrible.

This is a fun place in the ❤️ of one of the popular urban walkable neighborhoods. It sits on the corner of the business district. Awesome place for a happy hour. Outdoor patio, wooden inside bar. Good wings, pretzels and other bar foods. One of my faves!!
