Fun restaurant in downtown Cincinnati. We liked the regular chicken. The employee was super patient with us and helped us choose what she thought we would like most. Everyone in my group liked the desserts in the jar. It’s a family friendly place in a great location for walking around Cincinnati.
Great food! I've been hooked on this place ever since trying their Chicken&Waffles. Absolutely delicious. The menu is simple and the prices seem fair for the food you get. The spices are flavorful and not just pure heat. If you're feeling brave, I recommend trying out the Fire In The Hole heat level as it has a good smokey flavor with the heat.
We only had time to hit one hot chicken spot in Cincinnati and Joella's was the recommendation. It turned out to be a superb one. We tried the tenders, wings, and straight up chicken and they were all absolutely mouth watering (if a little salty, but that's the style!). There are a number of sides to choose from: I recommend the Mac and Cheese and the fries. The chicken is crazy tender and very flavorful.
Had Big wings platter: 3 whole wings with a side, i took Mac n cheese. Very well seasoned wings, different taste than other wing places. But it was very very OILY, and that's why I would rate it 3.5. The wings were served on top of a piece of bread to absorb the excess oil. Looks like it's their style but the skin was still very oily. See the pictures, oil was dripping out the serving sheet. Inside the wing was good- tender & seasoned. They also have white/dark meat quarters in the menu. Mac and cheese was awesome, loved the herby flavor.
I went on a busy Friday lunch and waited for almost 15 minutes for the order to be plated, not bad. Staff are really nice. Prime location but no parking.
Close to the baseball stadium. Great chicken! We had the honey mustard and the spiked honey dipping sauce. The Spiked Honey is described as Honey with Frank's Red Hot.. It should be described as Frank's Red Hot with a hint of honey. It's pretty much Frank's with nothing else. The craft drinks are really good as well. Especially the vanilla creme soda. Sadly they were out of banana pudding which I was really hoping for.
