The atmosphere is great! Big, round tables with a lazy Susan in the middle to serve the side dishes family style. We waited about 30 minutes, but it’s not surprising. The place was packed, and there aren’t many tables. It was definitely worth the wait. The food was good. The fried chicken was super juicy inside, very crispy on the outside. It could have used more seasoning, but it was still good. Four of us ordered entrees, and had enough to share, and take home. Portions are huge, which helps justify the price. Staff is very efficient, and knowledgeable. I’ll be back for sure.
Neat 1800s school house setting, meals served family style, unlimited sides, huge entree portions. Homemade dressing on the salad is the best. Waitress,s go out of the way round off your experience. I try to make the 45 min trek once a month
What a lovely place to go for either lunch or dinner. I'm so glad my friend Jane recommended we go. The food was really good and such a variety. You must check out the store behind the restaurant. A lot of unique and one of a kind finds.
Delicious food with a surprisingly good beer selection. They have a lazy Susan on the middle of each table to share family sized sides with the table. It's fun to let the kids play on the playground and feed the donkeys after dinner. Never had a bad meal here.
The theme is fun...an old schoolhouse. Menu written on a blackboard with lots of old-school comfort foods like fried chicken, meatloaf, roast beef, fish. (You can search "Old Schoolhouse Cincinnati" and click menu and photos. There are large round tables with lazy Susans in the center. So when you order your main course, all the sides go in the center for people to share. The service is attentive and they will provide you with more sides as they are depleted.
The main entrees (chicken, fish, etc.) are delicious. The sides only seem to lack some flavor, perhaps not made from scratch. I would recommend this place. About 8 of us went for a birthday lunch, and it was fun, especially for folks who like home-style comfort foods.
