Dave's Cosmic Subs - Mt Vernon

Very friendly staff and fun environment,but we were there for take-out.Waited 40 minutes for the wrong order, a cold-hot sub with a pile of greasy, congealed cheese on the wrong bread,and a nearly meatless-meat sub piled with sauerkraut that saturated the bread,(see "soggy"). The pickles are not "pickled",but a weird hybrid cucumber. If you like cukes,you'll love these things.$$$ for what we didn't get.

4/3/19 Wanted to re-assess my earlier review. We have since ordered carry-out several times and the subs were fresh,hot,and exactly what we ordered. The french fries are a huge hit with the little,(and big!), boys.( Still can do without the unpickled-pickles,but to each his own where pickles are concerned.)

The food always tastes amazing , the environment is very unique in a good way. The only thing I don't like is how hard the bread is on my subs. It makes it really hard to eat .

Unexpectedly excellent. Got the Crazy Daves, which was pleasantly fiery. It was a damned fine sub from toe to tail, but the bread was the show-stopper, really great crust. I will absolutely be returning next time I'm in town.

We have been in Mount Vernon for a while now and this is our first time at Cosmic Subs. The lady at the front counter is a gem, she adds a level if familiarity that is tough to find in a quick eat establishment. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was nice. The only thing I would request is less salt on the fries...it was intense, but otherwise if you haven't been here do yourself a favor..get on over. I wish we would have taken photos, we were hungry so no photo bombs by the sandwiches..the Reuben and meatball is what we had they were amazing. Great job and we look forward to coming back.

Parking can be a bit tricky, but I parallel parked on the street. A local may know better.

The seating area is nice. It's well managed and clean.

The decor is interesting. Gotta check out that mural!

That sauce is awesome, do give it a shot!
