Great food, great people

The Rib Cage is under new ownership, and while the food quality does not seem to be what it was (in my opinion), the prices are better. The owner and the waitress (her daughter) were attentive and prompt. The atmosphere was relaxed with no blaring music in the dining room, allowing for conversation to flow easily.

I've lived in Toledo for 27 years, cooked at various locations for 10 years, traveled to both coasts north and south. I've never had a better piece of fish in my life than the broiled whitefish special here, it was beautiful. As delicate as a perfectly cooked omelette. We came with a party of 8 right at open (4pm) on wednesday the 23rd. Had impeccable service. Appetizers, drinks, entrees...perfectly timed. For a place that comes off as a revamped 70's steak house the seafood takes the proverbial cake. That said, I ordered the 6oz filet rare and actually cut it with a fork. In all we tried the stuffed swai, clam strips, lemon rice soup, veal parmigana, escargot, ribs and chicken, filet, french onion, frog legs, white fish, and chicken caeser. Not a single complaint from me or any other guest, only praise and scrambling to set another dinner date.

Do you ever feel like your microwave at home is overworked and you need to give it a break? Do feel the need for some nostalgic smells of eating dinner in your 3 pack a day smoking aunts living room? This is your place. Mediocre food, stiff drinks, and stale smoke.
