Solid German-American fare, although American portion sizes. Well worth a visit for the ambience – an old world style lodge – albeit hard to find if you are visiting for the first time. It is located back in a woodsy fairgrounds used for a German heritage festival once a year. The food here is good and homemade, although not as good as Schmidt's in Columbus and German restaurants in a larger cities (my favorite is Edelweiss in Chicago). I recommend the taste of Germany appetizer or the pretzels, which come with an amazing cinnamon spread. Ham hock dinner is very good.

Beware, though, as dinner portions are astronomically large. I recommend splitting entrees if you are with another individual. The schnitzels serve about 3 people and are larger than a man's head. The cucumber salad and spaetzle sides were tasty, but the redskin potatoes tasted like they were pulled from the fridge – best to stick with the German sides. The service here is very friendly. Unfortunately, the restaurant is only open on weekdays, and there might be a longer wait for food if the private party room is occupied. During our visit we did have to wait longer, but our server gave my mother wine on the house because of it.

First time to eat here. The smoked grilled pork chops were fabulous. The fragrance of smoked. The cross markings of grilled and so tender and moist. Also, Hunter is a great waitress. Will be back.

The words fall short. One of the best restaurant around. First off you drive down a road to the restaurant that looks like you are in a forest. The food is phenomenal. They have every German dish you can imagine. From potato pancakes to German chocolate cake. The decor of the restaurant looks like a German lodge. I loved it.

Only put 5 stars because I can't leave 10 as the person I went with is determined to give them 10 stars. Our waitress was Hunter and she was amazing! Nicest waitress we've ever had anywhere hands down! She served us and also actually cooked our food, as the other lady was on lunch and she wanted her to eat her meal hot. Best food, service and atmosphere! ????????????????
