The Clover Key

I went for lunch with my sister on the recommendation of a friend. Upon first entering The Clover Key, it is an unassuming little place near Dillon Lake that has what appears to be a limited menu and a few vendor booths. We ordered a quesadilla, a CK Melt and two side salads...Oh my goodness. Not only was the kindness of the owner awesome the food was perfect! The CK Melt is a messy, ooey gooey conglomeration of cheeses, lean juicy burger and caramelized onions, the sauce was especially good too. The portions were generous. I recommend plenty of napkins but it is totally worth it. Honestly, probably the best melt we have ever tasted. The quesadilla was certainly not a disappointment either. Generous filling of tender chicken, perfectly seasoned with bacon, green peppers and onion. It was a little flavor symphony in mouth. It came served with salsa and sour cream. If that weren't enough, the side salads were the cutest little things with lettuce, grape tomatoes, croutons and white cheese; so filling. For dessert they offer a selection of pastries as well as Velvet ice cream, which was perfect for melting in around the edges. Although they bring your food to the table, they have a self bus system in use for when you are done. There is an assortment of merchandise available from local vendors to peruse while waiting on your food or to look at when you are finished. All in all, it was a delightful experience. The food was top notch. The staff was warm and inviting, and seemed genuinely concerned about making their customers happy. They offer daily specials at well. We will definitely return. Have only ate her once so far, but will definitely be back. Food was fresh and made to order and the owners were very friendly and polite. The store is full of unique jewelry and decore to look at (or purchase) while waiting on your food.
