Used to be great . ... I got the Sunday special with 2 boneless breasts in that special breading... Used to be hot, jucy, delicious.. now it seems to be made ahead & held in a steam table... So sad. I loved that meal & always got that if we went on Sunday. Chicken was dry, breading rock-like, mashed potatoes and gravy.. room temperature.. the carrots were good. Coffee ok but didn't get a refill till we were ready to leave. Gotta try harder cracker barrel...
Atmosphere was down to earth, comfy, cozy. Staff was pleasant. Food was for the most part yummy, however would've been better served hot and not cold/warm. Wish they'd serve chicken and dumplings for brunch! Beware dark/expresso drinkers...coffee is weak, more of a mild breakfast blend. Kids friendly. They enjoyed the food, especially the marketplace store (toys & candies) lol ???? overall experience is positive. I do recommend coming in for breakfast, lunch or dinner!
The food and service is always a hit or miss. If you go in the morning or afternoon your food and service is better than in the evening. I ordered baked chicken once that wasn't cooked all the way through, haven't ordered chicken there ever again. Breakfast food is really good though. The gift shop area is awesome.
Cracker Barrel is a nice place, they all tend to be clean. Not somewhere you want to stop for breakfast the servings are way to small for the price. Definitely a lunch and dinner stop, with good country cooking and plenty on those plates. I like that they have a food allergy folder that guides you through their menu (just ask to see it).
I love the general store part you never know what you're going to find, I always grab a root beer and the one in Zanesville had my favorite ginger candy (Gin Gins)
So if you want a decent meal with that country (kinda) vibe then I'd suggest Cracker Barrel...
Be Well Be Blessed...
Smile ???? Everyday...
The atmosphere was fun and old time. The people in Ohio were amazing. They truly respected the military and showed it every minute.
