Kent State University Hotel & Conference Center

This review is for the conference center only. The location is convenient with ample parking in the nearby public parking garage. The center is spacious with a great layout for multiple different setups. There are multiple projection screens to ensure everyone can see or to be used for individual team building stations. The catering staff is efficient, friendly, and task driven. This facility is a good choice for company get togethers, awards banquets, or educational meetings.

The service is top notch and restaurant does have decent food options for breakfast. Everything went smoothly and room service provided fresh towels and made the bed most days. The one issue is noise isolation in the rooms. The doors have a big gap at the bottom that lets in noise and light and you can hear people walking and running water from other rooms. I’d recommend picking the top floor if possible.

I want to preface my three stars by saying that the front desk staff is phenomenal. Kind, responsive, accommodating, and fast. My rating comes from the room cleaning /service. After two days, I requested my room be cleaned/serviced. While the towels were changed and trash taken out, nothing else was addressed - my bed not made, new toiletries not provided, coffee not replaced, etc. I was hoping to come to a clean room after a long day at a conference but that wasn’t the case.

Overall, it was ok. Room was clean when we arrived. Check in was fast. We requested the room be made up when we were out, and it was not done. The pillows were hard as rocks and round as big balloons and impossible to sleep on. On the second night, I did ask the front desk for a softer pillow and the front desk did bring me one very quickly. The rooms were very noisy — we could hear everyone talking in the halls and opening and closing their doors all night long. Food and service in the lobby bar were ok but nothing special. Hotel was convenient for us and that is why we stayed there. Price wise, it was reasonable.

Great experience, professional service! I enjoyed my stay with the clean and comfortable room amenities! Four stars only because both nights I stayed, the restaurant and bar were not open. After a long day of work I only wanted to eat at the hotel and quickly get to bed. I do understand business decisions must be made and appreciated their hospitality. The front desk staff was very kind and even recommended great places to eat close by!
Otherwise a great comfortable stay and close to everything!
