Old Canal Smoke House

First, if you are a craft beer enthusiast; make a visit. An incredible selection of top shelf brews. Had the brisket and was not disappointed. Ordered-up on my sides and went with the coconut onion rings and this is the only reason I did not give 5 stars. Battered cod was the special and it was obvious they do not use a separate fryer for fish.

Great BBQ, I got the brisket and pulled pork. Next time I would just go all brisket! They brought out 2 house sauces, sweet and a sweet heat. They were both a bit too sweet and needed a bit more body. Overall a fun venue and good BBQ.

On our way home from North Carolina, we decided to check restaurants in Chillicothe, this one was rated #1, so we tried it. The reviews were right! The brisket was so good, we took home a pound and a bottle of barbecue sauce! The baked beans were awesome! Will definitely stop back in the next time we are in the area.

The brisket is so good it's unreal. Super nice beer selection. So many side dishes it's hard to choose. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. I just can't say enough good this about the place. Our waitress Brooke was very attentive and friendly. She answered all our first timer questions and was very patient with us. My wife loved the chicken and we both loved the dessert. Also, the cocktails (blueberry lemon shake up and key lime pie) were great!
