First off, the food was fantastic!! Hubby ordered the Mushroom Ravioli which was so creamy and delicious! I had the lasagna...VERY generous portion and with extra sauce (I asked for it)....was fantastic! We ordered the garlic bread with marinara for appetizer and the marinara is spot on! Same sauce for the lasagna and really is some of the best (if not THE best) marinara sauce. FOOD is five star and the pricing was good.
I took off a star because of the odd seating. We were seated in an odd "walk-thru" hallway-feeling area. Only enough room for 2 rows of seating....booths on one wall and tables at the other...we got a table. The music was so low that you couldn't make out what was playing so it was very quiet and combine that with the close quarters and tables.... it felt like I was in a fishbowl. The chairs were NOT comfortable....why not take the tables out and add more booths??? If the "hallway" was at the end of the restaurant...with louder music....it would have a much better feel but it's the first room and next to the kitchen so there's always customers and staff walking through. I did notice that there were two other seating rooms and wished that I could've been seated in one of the other rooms...I will go back for the food....and ask to be seated somewhere else but I worry that the atmosphere...from that first room... is going to keep others from going back. I would love to see a great Italian restaurant stick around in that area!!!!

My husband and I went here for dinner and enjoyed it. We loved the family style salad. I had lemon chicken, and it was very tasty. My husband said his chicken fettuccine alfredo was the best he'd had that he didn't make himself. We got a crab stuffed mushroom appetizer, but it wasn't our favorite. The service was okay, our drinks stayed filled, but it wasn't super quick. Ambiance and dining room set up leave much to be desired. It's hard to tell if you are in a sports bar or a nice Italian restaurant. We were seated in the middle of a walkway, it was always busy around our table. Prices were quite reasonable.
We decided to go back with our children another evening, and eat here again. We didn't have a chance to try anything this time. After waiting at the door for ten minutes before being greated, we waited another ten minutes without speaking to a host/hostess. There was no wait for a table, but we never got to sit down. After twenty minutes at the door, and no idea when we might get a table we left. I would like to try Purple Olive again, and hope they've fixed their seating issues.

Sub-par food, not great service times and seems to lack any real organization. The staff are friendly but not super professional which doesn't bother me much but I really wish the food was better. The prices are pretty good but you really do get what you pay for. Perhaps consider smaller portions and better quality. At least start with fresh fries instead of frozen for one...

I ordered the meatball sub and my husband ordered the mama Mia burger. Both were delicious and very generous portion. And definitely not overpriced. Our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We will definitely being eating there again.
