Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

We thought the food was great. The waitress was very courteous taking our order. The Sampler was a good variety of Cracker Barrel's menu. But, we hit a very large pothole, in the middle of the parking lot, as we were getting our barrings for the drive home.

Great, as usual for Cracker Barrel! My only complaint was I ordered the Cracker Barrel Sampler and was expecting a plate full of dumplings, meatloaf, and ham. Cracker Barrel portions are usually pretty big.
I got four dumplings, a small piece of meatloaf and even smaller piece of ham. The food was excellent, just not as much as I had imagined. It covered only half the plate. Even so, the amount of food for the price wasn't bad. And they give you three sides. Who does that these days?

I had enough room left to try my wife's Southern Fried Chicken. The coating could use a little more spice for my taste, but there was plenty of it and it was crunchy. It looked exactly like the commercial on TV. That's rare these days. The chicken was juicy and tender.

When it came to my drink, I found the Black Cherry soda (in a glass, not some pre-bottled stuff). It cost less than pop or iced tea and it was delicious. When it arrived, it looked like sparkling seltzer, which I don't like. So my first taste was jaded. But after that first sip, I was hooked. And unlike other restaurants where refills on specialty drinks are full price, this had a bottomless refill at no additional charge. I stopped counting at four. It is THAT good!

Cracker Barrel simply had food food, kind staff, and good service and a wonderful atmosphere! One of my favorite places to go to treat myself. Unique experience. Plus their gift shop is amazing!

I love Cracker Barrel! Lots of delicious comfort foods. The store has unique merchandise. You can spend lots of time shopping before or after you dine. Friendly, efficient service.

The customer service in the gift shop was excellent! All the women working were so kind and pleasant! I was also surprised at the great prices on a lot of the items! Pretty inexpensive for most of the products! The food was excellent! All around great experience.
