Always Great!! Large Variety of Side Dishes and Fresh Lettuce! Chicken is the Best around! Anybody that gives this place a bad review absolutely does not know what good food is!
Sloppy Joe salad was crisp, fresh and great taste.
Wifes chicken special was great with 3 large pieces of chicken. All was moist and fried perfectly.
Even the corn nuggets was good.
We will be back again.
The Broasted Chicken and Swiss Steak were both good; however, the limited selection of sides was disappointing. I chose Mashed Potatoes (OK) and a Side Salad. The Salad consisted of bagged lettuce that was not fresh and had brown edges. Nothing was added to the bagged lettuce, not even a tomato slice (and this is Ohio in August where tomatoes are plentiful and inexpensive). Blue cheese salad dressing was good. When I go to an Amish Restaurant, I expect to get some fresh local vegetables with my dinner. Apparently, they do not serve bread or roles with the dinner either. The pie was OK, but, the ice cream was watery and runny. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. For the price ($11.95), these dinners were not worth it. Nice that there was no wait for a table. If you happen to be in Baltic, Miller's Dutch Kitchen has good food (except for the salad), however, it is pricey for what you get. So, for the same amount of money, I will go to Mrs. Yoder's in Mount Hope, where they have an incredible salad bar with fresh local vegetables, Broasted Chicken that is just as good, and as many sides as you want from the buffet. Plus Mrs. Yoder gives you bread.
It's really my favorite restaurant in Amish Country. The other aces have the views and reputation but this place has the best tasting food. The roast beef and chicken are the two best things on the menu.
Edit: was there again recently and my review stands as written. Had the beef again and was delicious and a huge helping. Everyone in our party was satisfied. - You may want to try this place if you don't like the long waits at the other restaurants in Holmes county, though not as big a selection. Pot roast was melt in your mouth tender and so yummy. Service on the night we went was a bit slow, but not horrible, but the waitress was friendly and helpful.
