Angela's

Very good food with a very large variety. Breakfast to Steaks and Seafood, should be able to find something for everyone.

This restaurant is only 3 weeks old. Ate lunch here on a Saturday afternoon while visiting Vinita. The chicken fried steak is hand breaded at the restaurant not some frozen pre-breaded junk that some places serve. Mashed potatoes are extremely dense and creamy. The portions are large and meals are reasonably priced. This even place beats Hammett House's pampered-fried steak hands down.

We were there on grand opening day of Angela's Restaurant. It was their 1st full day in business and a test of all their preparations. They were awfully busy and ran out of a lot of their food items before we arrived. The employees are still learning each other's name and everyone was nervous. We didn't expect perfection.

We were offered a home baked cookie while we waited for our meals. The service was great in spite of their hectic day. In fact, several employees checked on us during the time we were there. They have a large menu selection and the surroundings are clean. The food appears to be home cooked and is served well.

Our sides were cold but I suspect that will improve as they get better orchestrated into their routines. The chicken and dumplings had a very unappealing sour taste. I do NOT recommend that dish. Everything else tasted great. I would recommend a house salad added to their selection of side items, but overall they have a lot of potential.

We will go back when things settle down a bit and will provide a follow-up review. I hope Angelas is a success. They certainly seem to be trying hard to get things just right. Vinita needs a good down-home American restaurant. I hope it has arrived. So far, pretty good.
