Canelo's mexican grill and bar

Stop in here for great Mexican food! We grabbed a bite on a road trip on a Friday night. The restaurant was busy but we got in quick and got our food quickly as well. The staff was friendly, prompt, and attentive. Everything I tasted was delicious!

Food is absolutely delicious and the service is pretty good too. My one complaint is that's it's always SO loud in Canelo's. I thought it was just because we always go when it's busy, but today we went between meal times and not only was the loud Mexican music blaring (as usual), but they had rock and roll blaring in the kitchen and so it was ridiculously loud.
Great food, but if you wanna hear your companions you should probably get it to go or go elsewhere. LOL

They were amazing!! It was valentine's day, super busy but that didn't slow them down. The waitress was amazing, the service was amazing, food/drinks was AMAZING. Perfect evening with my perfect someone and they made it happen!!

We were on a 6,000 mile, 17 day road trip with our 4 kids. I was *so tired* of take-out and fast food. When my husband suggested we hit up Canelo's for dinner after we stopped for the night in Clinton I was very skeptical. I love Mexican food, but it has to be really good. I'm really picky--haven't had good Mexican in 15 years, and it isn't for lack of trying. So we ordered a bunch of different dishes and hoped for the best.

It was *so* good!!! The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated. And the food was amazing. All of it. Portions were generous, price was reasonable, and quality was excellent.

We stopped in Clinton on the way back, expressly to eat at Canelo's again!

What a delightful find! We went early evening and didn't expect it to be so busy. There's good reason! We were seated quickly. Our server was friendly and attentive. The chips and salsa were crisp and tasty, and frozen margaritas refreshing (the added orange and lime were a bonus). Who knew - Monday is all you can eat taco night! I sampled both the ground beef and chicken tacos (chicken was my favorite). I even ate all the beans and rice, which I usually don't, but they were so flavorful as well. Prices were very reasonable. We were more than satisfied!
