The food was phenomenal and hands down just amazing BUT…..The nickel and dime for the alcoholic drinks is just wrong. I paid $30.50 for my old fashion and they did not let me know this until the tab was given. I pointed at the $13 dollar per shot x 2 for basil Hayden’s on my tab in question, which she asked If we would like different bourbon but did not clarify price, and then I asked why the bitters cost $2.00 and why the ice mold prep cost $2.50. I did not ask for ice mold prep! The menu says an old fashion is $9. The waitress said “I don’t make up the rules”. We should have been warned because three drinks cost us $78 without giving us the actual price. It was a casual $220 night and we did not even get full. Great food though.

Atmosphere is what you expect. It is a little smaller than I expected but not a huge problem. Music was solid. Originally was a mix of 90's - 2010's but gradually moved to a techno mix. Food wasn't great and wasnt worth the price.

We ordered the chicken wings, oxtails and fried rice, and lobster tacos

Chicken was good crispy skin and well seasoned.

Oxtails fried rice was 95% fried rice and 5% oxtails. Could barely taste them

Lobster tacos was tiny but good.

We were very excited to try JK for the first time recently. It definitely lived up to the hype. The restaurant had a great vibe and the food was delicious. The menu items really reminded us of Nobu. There was great variety of really unique items that we enjoyed trying. The drinks were also very good. Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time since it gets busy.

I was so excited to try this place! Absolutely stunning and fun to look at. All wait and host staff were so attentive and I like that the waiters can focus on taking care of their customers without having to run food or drinks. The attention to detail in the decor all the way down to the receipt box is meticulous. Where I felt it was lacking was in the food. I saw prices online and was surprised that they were relatively low.
Get there, read the background story on the menu that food is meant to be shared. So we ask our waitress if ordering the steak, lamb chops, and fried rice would be way too much food. She said it’s a lot of food but eating rice as our side for our two meals would make sense. Guys the portions of food were so tiny 🫠 even the goblet my cocktail was served in was just a few sips I felt like. The taste of the food as well as the cocktails were top notch, however we both left hungry even after an app, 2 meals, fried rice as a side, AND dessert! And the bill….🫣 yikes.
Needless to say I’m not sure when/if we’ll be back. Definitely not when we’re starving 😅
The chef brought out our dessert which was a nice touch, and the other owner is there working front of house. Both guys are really nice and I’m rooting for this place to make it, but coming back I’ll order heavier like just the fried rice as my meal I think.
