Milo

Decided to spend my Saturday with some friends for a tour of newer bars in our city. A few opened up this weekend. We started at Milo for some cocktails. It wasn’t busy, but for some reason the service was slow and it seemed no one wanted to help us. So we went to the bar and ordered some cocktails. The drinks definitely made up for the lack of service and the decor was spot on. There is an amazing piece of art made with books in the Lobby of Ellison. Alaina Hunt did a fantastic job.

The food was good but man it took forever to get it. The waitress wasn’t that attentive either. She would disappear for long periods of time. We ordered the roasted carrots as an appetizer and it took well over 20 mins for them to come out. Our food was easily another 20 mins after that.

So not sure if this was a fluke. I think a lot of places struggle with finding enough help these days so we’ll see.

Loved the look and the energy of Milo! The lounge area in the hotel lobby was very welcoming and you can sit and have a glass of wine in that area.

Our server was sweet and friendly. Appetizers were all ice cold in the center, so I’m assuming they were frozen 🤷🏼‍♀️ Our steak was cooked perfectly and it was delicious. Salads were the opposite, just awful honestly

I think there are a LOT of kinks to work out in terms of food. I was under the impression that Milo was a chef owned restaurant and an ode to Oklahoma. Neither of those were apparent on our visit. Maybe with time, things will improve! Right now, it’s a “meh”.

So excited to have such a wonderful dining experience in OKC! The staff was simply the best and the food was outstanding! I can not wait to go back and try more of the menu.
