Sam's Southern Eatery

It used to be so much better. We came here several times under previous ownership/management, and it was consistently excellent every single time.
We came back today after a few months, and it seems like there are new people working here, and the food has changed. The service was still good, and the food came out fairly quickly, which was good.
But the po boy wasn’t as good as before. Previously, I remember just raving about the po boy probably being the best in the city, and now it just tastes average. The cocktail sauce has changed. The green beans taste like there no salt on them whatsoever, and actually they tasted like there was cumin in there. The breading on the fried fish was a little tough, which was kind of strange, and definitely was a change from previous visits.
Also, it’s the middle of July, and I’m pretty sure that the temperature inside the restaurant felt barely cooler than outside. Not sure if they’re trying to save money or if their A/C isn’t working properly....
I hope they get better for their sake, but I’m not sure if we’ll be back again.

People are nice. However, I don’t like the new changes under the new management.

They increased the price and the portions are smaller, which is fine. I can get over that but the ingredients + batter doesn’t taste the same either. Please change it back.

The food was great! The customer service was over the top. Angie our waitress was wonderful. Can't wait to go back.
