A lot of fun watching the races here. And they have great food and great service.
Had a question about one of the specials at Silks. The first time I called nobody answered, so I left a message requesting a call back. Nobody ever called. The next time I called a woman answered and was so incredibly rude that I no longer have any desire to visit this place.
UPDATED from 1 star to 3:
Wound up visiting Silks despite my better judgement. Made reservations, then needed to change the time to accommodate some friends. Lousy internet in my area so called to make the change. Called multiple times on multiple days, but nobody ever answers the phone. Left messages, but nobody bothered to return my call until a couple hours prior to the reservation. By that time I'd contacted the F&B Manager to have the reservation changed.
Now I really didn't want to go, but was pleasantly surprised with the service once we got there. The soup and cheesecake were great. None of the entrees appealed to me, so opted for the BLT salad. It was fresh and plentiful; Just didn't care for it because it was loaded with blue cheese and avocado. My friend did NOT enjoy her hamburger, but the fellas seemed to enjoy their BBQ entrees. The 2 for $25 special is a great deal IF you can find something to your liking on the limited menu offered with the special.
Great time for the Kentucky Derby party. Food was great and the beer was cold. We had an awesome waitress, Allison, who took great care of us.
Everything was so surprisingly good! We had old fashioned chicken fried steak, and burchetta chicken, but the thing we enjoyed the most was the shrimp and grits appetizer. It was amazing! With fantastic service, a great view, and fun at the horse races, you can't lose.
