This place was fantastic. Ate here with the family tonight and everyone walked away loving it. Ordered a little bit of every meat (except the hot link) and they were all fantastic. The brisket and country sausage were my favorites, and the ribs and turkey were close seconds. The sauce was also very good, but I didn't feel that the meats needed any sauce.
The sides we got were the weakest part of the meal for me. We got the fried okra and brisket mac. They were prepared well, but the brisket mac was lacking in flavor.
Service was fantastic and overall I really enjoyed myself there.
Glad to see another high quality barbecue spot opening up here in OKC!
My wife and I tried The Smoking Boar last Saturday, and it was so amazing we went back this weekend. Wonderful staff, the managers go out of their way to make you feel like you are their only customers. The food is simply amazing. Between the two visits we've had the pulled pork, sliced brisket, ribs (highly recommended), and turkey. All are simply amazing. As far as sides go, get the brisket mac and cheese, it's awesome, and the baked beans are flavored with whatever their sausage of the day is. If they have it, do yourself a favor and get the orange chocolate truffle cake.... you'll not be disappointed! Pro-tip: booking a reservation online is super easy through their website!
A bit on the pricey side for BBQ . Chicken had an excellent smoked flavor. Chicken was also very juicy. Brisket was tender but seemed to miss something in the flavor. Potato Salad for a side was good could be split between two people the one serving size. Beans was good. Sides are a little pricey at $5.00 per side. Atmosphere was very good. Waitstaff was excellent tonight. Maybe next time I go back will be able to give the place 5 stars.
The menu is small but packs a punch! The brisket and pulled pork were nice and juicy and well seasoned. The sauces were awesome. The brisket Mac and cheese didn't have much meat but it was delicious . We tried the fried okra, which was different because it was whole fried okra, the sauce it came with pushed it over the top. The dessert was definitely something to write home about, mixed berry cobbler, just the right amount of crust and fruit. The vanilla ice cream was some of the best we've ever had. Service was fantastic and quick. Will be back soon!
