Hammett House Restaurant

My wife and I ate here for lunch today. Really good food, large portions. Amber was our waitress. She was really nice. Amazing pumpkin pie with a pecan strudel on top. Highly recommend.

It is fairly close to Tulsa and a fairly good place to eat. Kind of fun to go there once in a while to experience something different from everyday places to eat.

I think Hammett House opened in 1969. They serve so many exceptional dishes it is hard to choose what I like best. Rolls are amazing. Pamper fried chicken is yummy. Even the house salad is better than average. Chopped tomato, cucumber and mixed greens. The Pink Stuff dressing adds a little kick. Try the hot apple pie Delight with brandy sauce & ice cream. Each time I visit I vow to go more often!

Excellent service and choice of menu items. The pies are remarkable and the fried okra and cream gravy mashed potatoes were very good and perfectly cooked. I have to admit though that the chicken fried steak was overcooked and dry. This was the only disappointment, but it was the main course. I'll give them another chance.
