Saw the sign, Taco Tuesday and Margarita!
Someone read my mind. So I had to do a U turn!
I can’t remember what was here at this location, but it certainly was not La Huerta Grill. This is a new restaurant and I didn’t have time to try things out in the menu.
I was on the two items specific, hard shell beef taco and margarita!
The main entrance is on the side, it appears like a small greeting like a hotel entrance.
Very tall doors and ceiling which made you feel very grand! And nicely, very nicely decorated!
Food: the beef on the hard shell taco, was dead on, for flavor!
The margarita, as I expected would be overly sweet, for my taste!
The manager came by and very nicely asked how everything thing! … … blah blah blah!
He said, next time, ask for skinny margarita, I will make it for you!
    Very considerate of him.
    Much appreciated!

Ahhh I got it! The previous restaurant here was:
    Casa Grande!

Let's start with chips and salsa. The chips were a delicate corn that we enjoyed and standard salsa maybe a notch above. The spicy salsa was wonderful as I grew a taste for that sauce years ago. I had the lunch chicken fajitas They were very good but what stood out to me the most (sorry no pic on this) was the flour tortilla, they are made in house and were excellent!!!. Our waiter Rigo was was on top of things and was obviously hustling to keep up with the lunch crowd but kept a pleasant vibe through it all. Our price point kept us at roughly $10 a head for lunch which is hard to do at a drive thru in today's world. We will 💯 come back. When I came back everything was good again I added a photo of burrito la huerta.

The food was delicious! There was not anything I did not like. I also loved their fresh tortillas made in house. This is one of my top 2 favorite places. Thanks to them I crave huevos con chorizo all the time! I can’t wait to go back and try more of their menu! Food and service were all exceptional and the restaurant was very clean!

    One bean at a time………

La Huerta is a large Mexican restaurant cartel based in Arkansas, with many restaurants scattered across the northeastern part of that state. There is one in Poteau, OK. Now they are in Broken Arrow to get a piece of the already overloaded Mexican restaurant market. They are a good solid Mexican restaurant but don’t expect to be blown away. Most all of their restaurants are rated 4.0 – 4.3 on Google. I have dined at several and found that to be a reasonable assessment of the food and service. Most Yelp reviews of La Huerta’s locations are not as generous with the stars. The new restaurant in Broken Arrow is in that ballpark of Google’s 4 star rating.

The interior of the restaurant is pretty much as it was when Casa Grande operated in the building. It is a nice roomy modern dining facility with a bar. A great building, large parking lot and a perfect high exposure accessible location for most any type of restaurant.

    The food..
Ask for salsa picante. It had a fresh taste (peppers, cilantro, garlic, etc.) with a nice level of heat. The mild salsa is tomato and garlic. My wife had a “pick two” combo from the lunch special: a relleno and a tamale w/beans and rice. The relleno was very good. I had the Enchiladas La Huerta: 3 chicken enchiladas with a habanero cream sauce. This was a light flavorful plate of well-seasoned chicken, rolled in corn tortillas and covered with bright orange mild habanero sauce. It came with a small bowl of charro beans and rice.

The service was disappointing, but adequate. The waitress took our order. Our food was served by someone from the kitchen. My bowl of beans came without a spoon. Our waitress had vanished after taking our order. In the meantime, I found a long-handled iced tea spoon in the tableware packet. Not the ideal tool to eat the bean soup with. When the waitress did finally show up to deliver the check, I was done. I had eaten the bowl of beans with the small, long-handled tea spoon…pretty much….one bean at a time.

Not my top choice for Mexican food in Broken Arrow, but it might be yours. Be sure to ask for a spoon before the waitress disappears.

The place just opened, and I thought I’d try it out. It’s nicely renovated inside, and the staff were friendly. Food is what matters though, and I enjoyed it. I got the “grande dinner”, and it was definitely grande. It included both plates of food in the photo. My daughter loved the queso and tortillas. Flan and sopapillas were a good ending to the meal.
