That was a tough old hog!

“J” on Google reviews (about a month ago) “I had MRG Banh Mi and while the flavor was good it was extremely fatty and required gripping the meat in my fingers to tear off bites.”

When I walked in the door, Maple Ridge Grocer’s décor and ambiance set my expectations for spectacular service and phenomenal food. It is indeed a very nice restaurant. Modern décor and smartly dressed staff in matching colors. Comfortable seating, with a nice big window providing lots of light. A very open, roomy feeling restaurant.

Almost a 5 star experience.....

My wife had the Salmon Burger and for me the MRG Banh Mi. My wife loved the salmon burger. On the MRG Banh Mi, pork with a hint of smoke, Asian BBQ sauce, teriyaki mayo, cilantro and jalapenos on a bolillo. An absolutely delicious, sensational combination of flavors. I loved it except for some of the tough unchewable and fatty slices of pork. I’m talking can’t chew it, can’t cut it with a knife shoe string tough. The meals came with delicious uniquely cut fries. The taste of both of these meals was fabulous. Great combinations of flavors. The service was friendly/adequate.

Love the clean, retro vibe of this place. Went here for breakfast and it wasn’t crowded. Servers were super nice and friendly, and the food was great.

They have a good selection of sauces to go with your breakfast and even their own jam, which was extremely delicious. Can’t wait to go again!

I brought my mom because I had heard great things. However, it was kind of lacking. I got the Bahn Mi and the Quiche and my mom got the burger. The high point was the Quiche...it was absolutely fantastic! My Bahn Mi however had barely a dab of the sauce that had been so praised, and, although the meat was fresh, it overall didn't have much of a flavor profile. It was warm, but not hot, as if it had been sitting. My mom's burger was worse. It was a smallish burger, didn't appear to be a 1/4 pound, also looked as if it had sat there for a good minute, and was dry.

The fries were good, albeit also warm, not hot and there was a great, small cafe ambiance going for it, oh, and the wait staff were good. That's about it. My trip may have been just a fluke, and I advise others to try it, but I won't be returning myself.

Such a cute little spot! The food was delicious and the area is adorable. Don’t skip out on a tasty cocktail to accompany! We tried the almond croissant, maple donut, Benedict burrito and salmon Benedict! Cocktails were espresso martini and blackberry bramble! Make your reservations and go!

Rarely can I say a place is perfect….but here we are.
Perfect atmosphere, very dish was unique, fresh, and delicious.
The servers love what they do and it shows.
The fresh sesame bread toasted and warm served with a large portion of fresh, butter greets you when you first sit down.
Baba Ganoush…the best I’ve ever tasted
Naan…made fresh and it tastes like heaven
Airline Chicken w/gnocchi…seared to perfection , juicy throughout.
Halibut on asparagus risotto….wow…just wow
