McMenamins Sunnyside

I stopped in for lunch on a Thursday afternoon.
It was busy, but not full and
I sat down in a booth near the
bar.
I ordered the Gyro without onions with a salad and a strawberry milkshake.
My order arrived after fifteen minutes.
The Gyro was solid, but the flavor was average.
The milkshake was thick and had good taste.
The server did not stop by and ask how my food was.
The food is solid, but not outstanding. I did not try any of the beers, but they have a good selection.
The food is a little expensive, the service is friendly and the food is average.
Most people would find this a nice place to have lunch.

The food is always amazing. The wait staff is extremely knowledgeable about which items have any kind of gluten in them. I'm always happy with anything I eat there.

Truly, a cozy oasis in the midst of that very busy and hectic part of town! The Turkey Cranberry sandwich with tots was sublime. And thanks for the great customer service.

Oh my God it's better than it looks. The Coffee Nudge and the carrot cake are the best things together since a fork and knife. Friendly staff and a neat little restaurant.

Unless you're new to the area, you come to McMenamins having already decided what you want. And you know it's going to be the same every time. This isn't a bad thing. But it isn't wowing me with culinary exploration either. What they offer is solid, but I think the menu could use a solid refresh from time to time.
