Amazing!! The first night we met the owner, really fun guy! Had a blast. Couldn't help but go back for the cheese board that sounded so yummy, and was! Went back AGAIN tonight for the pot pie, and a personalized cheese board by Liz that eas just divine! Wow. Great experiences all around. Oh and the craft drinks, beers, etc- incredible!!
Cozy, intimate whiskey bar with a pretty large selection of brown liquors. Our server was fun, really great banter. He goes by the name of Wigs ( even though he is bald, Wigs, as in wigging out) Hope you have as good a time as we did.
Good food, nothing spectacular but great service and very professional with COVID restrictions.
We have been coming here for many years while it was still Morris's Fireside. We were surprised to find that after 47 years they had sold and became MacGregor's. We were worried at first that being a new owner they would have a completely new menu minus our favorite, Morris's clam chowder. We were pleasantly surprised when not only were they still serving the same recipe, but even they same chef.
We have traveled up and down both the east and west coasts sampling clam chowder and frankly most of they are very similar no matter what their claims. However the clam chowder at MacGregor's is clearly unique and they best anywhere. It has an incredibly smooth and satiny texture one can only get by not skimping, but using the best ingredients. It has just the right amount of clams, bacon and potatoes as well as whatever other secret ingredients are in there. It is a pleasure to enjoy.
We also had breakfast with their delicious Eggs Benny and Salmon Omelet.
Excellent breakfast! Oregon Benny was great. Biscuits & Gravy more savory than sausage, but still wonderful. Our waitress, Alex (whose parents used to run the restaurant), was sweet and gracious. The hostess, Becca, was attentive and sweet as well. And all the while, Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller completed the mood with some mellow tunes: Down South, and String Of Pearls!
