AMAZING is all I can say. My family and I have eaten here two times. The first time was very tasty but took awhile for food to come out, but not a problem because they were just getting their bearings as they had just opened. We went this last weekend again. Service was phenomenal (can’t remember the gentleman’s name), but he was helpful, knowledgeable, and very on top of everything. My husband is so happy they brought Strombolis back!! They are authentic rolled Strombolis, not folded over like a calzone and erroneously called a Stromboli. Top notch super tasty. Their pizza is always delicious. I got the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The half portion is huge and it was seriously so stinking good. My husband, who doesn’t like any cheesesteak sandwiches, even loved it. I got mushroom and onions on it and they were cooked perfectly. The sandwich rolls come from Philadelphia so you know it’s authentic and the cheese whiz was delectable!! So happy this restaurant has come to Nyssa. Although I live in Fruitland, we will still be making the drive. 10/10 recommend. We can’t wait to try more items! I couldn’t get a picture of my sandwich because I scarfed it down.
Food was very good at a more then fair price. Nothing tasted frozen or cheap quality. Building itself is a little run down and some of the boothes are in disrepair but dont let that deter you. I had burger and asked for it very well done. They delivered happily. My husband had their version of a supreme pizza. The crust was soft and fluffy with a crisp crunchy bottom. They are definitely not stingy with the toppings unlike some chain restraunts. And they have good ranch which is inportant in a pizza place lol. Its a bit of a drive but sort of a hidden gem.
It's a small town pizza place, and I have been there a couple times this year. They make an effort to serve the best pizza and assorted yummy items, and both my meals were delicious! The pizza was some of the tastiest, light crispy crust, I was truly happy with it, excellent choice I had made, lol. Go try them out for yourself and I know you will agree, best wishes all Y'all!
We ordered the Classic Burger & Fries, Cheesesteak w/ grilled onions & CheezeWiz with Onion Rings on the side, & Bone-in Smokehouse BBQ wings.
The burger was big and tasty. Personal preference would have more seasoning on the beef. Cheesesteak was very good! Fries were fresh cut. Fries & Onion rings were a little over-cooked for our tastes but still tasted good. The house fry sauce was good! The Chicken wings were large and flavorful. My call in order was ready in 20 minutes.
Parking is a bit difficult to navigate due to the private homes on either side of the restaurant having no parking signs posted but once I found a spot I was in & out quick enough. Staff were pleasant on the phone and in getting my order rang up and to me.
Looking forward to trying more menu items.
My rating stands, I had a Hawaiian pizza on Fri that was good and today I had a Turkey Club sandwich that was really good 👍.
The only problem I have at the moment is the service is slow when it comes to getting your order, they are still working out the kinks. Every time I have placed and order (4) it has been lost or completely missed making it take over 30 minutes for my order to actually be ready a couple of times.
I understand you're busy but completely losing a takeout order that was called in because it didn't print out is not an excuse, you had my phone number and should have called me so I didn't have to wait again for it to be made.
I still left a tip and the food is good so just need to get things running smother and I will rate it better.
They are now open!!!
I think everyone in town is here on opening day from the city of Nyssa to our great residence.
They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I am giving this a 5 star for the fact that we needed a little variety of restaurants and a pizza place fits that category nicely.
As you can see from the photos, it's directly across from Amalgamated which should be an excellent location for foot traffic and a busy lunch hour for the owners of Mama J's
This is a temporary star rating until I've had the chance to try their food but can't wait for it to open.
Nyssa is coming back with some great places to eat.
Just off the beaten path but usually worth the drive and our friendly little town.
