I have eaten here many times over a couple of decades, and while the menu has changed some, and prices have crept up some, the food is always outstanding. The vegetables are always fresh and crisp, the sauces are always mouth-watering good, and every dish is just right. This is a family owned and operated place where the family clearlr cares about getting it right. I have eaten at Vietnamese restaurants around the US, especially the DC area, in Europe, especially around Cologne, and while I have eaten at some other good places, and I have eaten at some way more expensive Vietnamese places, I have never eaten at one I would say is better than Kim Huong in Salem. Always plenty of room to park, and one can easily get a good meal and not be late getting back from lunch.
Sorry, were hungry enough to start eating and not enough time to snap our ordered dishes before they got “torn up”. Kids loved the food, wife and I as Pho lovers approve it here as well. Portions aren’t huge, but I believe that’s perfect to keep one from overeating, considering that we did it even finish ours. Sunday night they were full of clients, to me it just means that this is a proper place with good eats! If you want 5 star everything, go to a brand new construction spot with fresh paint and new toilet fixtures, this is a good neighborhood spot, seems to be served by owners themselves!
Showed up here 40 minutes to closing on a Friday and this place was busy. That's the sign of good food. We ordered and got the food pretty quick. Very enjoyable I would highly recommend.
This is a decent place with a handful of vegetarian options. We had the crispy veggie rolls. They were tasty and came with a pretty standard sauce. For our meals we had Spicy Tofu with Lemongrass and Tofu with Mixed Vegetables. Both were good, but the sauce on the Spicy Tofu was amazing - it has peanuts, though, which weren't listed in the description. It was fine for us, but wouldn't be for everyone. The rice seemed as though it had been sitting for a while - a little hard and not easy to break apart with chopsticks.
Chopsticks are available, but you may have to ask for them. Same with hot tea. They prefer that you order by number, not by the name of the dish. They brought fortune cookies with the bill.
Great place to get your pho fix. Generous portions of meat and noodles with a full body broth. We also ordered a couple of Vietnamese sandwiches to go but weren't that excited about the bread so won't be trying them again. We would recommend this place as it is a short jot off the highway and good value.
