Nagoya Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi

My new favorite sushi stop in Salem. The hibachi is lots of fun, but even the sushi bar is a great stop. The dishes are excellent, always fresh and delicious.

Nagoya Saves the Night!

The night started off at an entirely different Japanese restaurant, where we had already spent 80 minutes, mostly waiting... well, I won't get into that all here. It was not a good experience and left us hungry, frustrated and searching for a meal.

Then we step in Nagoya. Greeted immediately. Seated just as swiftly. Our server was very polite and made us feel welcome. We were having drinks, eating a delicious meal, smiling and chatting; all within 20 minutes.

I'm done experimenting. Nagoya is my absolute top of the list, go-to, no shenanigans, delicious food and friendly staff, sushi and hibachi stop for Salem, Oregon.

I always love coming here. The sushi is fresh and delicious, and the beauty of the presentation is delightful. On the hibachi side, the food is always cooked to perfection, and their fried rice is the best I've ever had. The chefs are entertaining, if a little predictable if you've ever been to a hibachi place before. Prices are perhaps premium, but what you get I believe is worth it.

My family and I love Nagoya so we decided to take our company there for our Christmas party. There was a mixup of how many people were coming and they had prepared for about 20 more people than what showed up. Short of the long, the Manager totally took care of us and made it very comfortable for everyone and we all had a great time. The side of the restaurant that cooks in front of you doesn’t open until 4 and he opened at noon especially for us.

We tried this Teppanyaki style for fun and variety of foods (chicken, shrimp, beef). While it was not what we had in Tokyo, Japan, the food was good -- keeping expectations relative, (we ordered meat rare in case it needed more heat), for here, and was a very fun experience. Our food and service was very good, so we came back a couple days later as we were there visiting our son at the University. We'll be coming here again.

Food was fresh and delicious. We sat at the grill with some other customers and had a great time. The hot tea could have been better. We were sat next to the kitchen even though there were plenty of other grills available. I will ask for a different seating next time. Service was great!
