This place has the best prepared pizza crust. Their ovens are super hot (650-900 F) and that yields a delightful crust. I make my own pizza base (have done it for years) and know what it takes to make a good crust. The toppings are good and the make-your-own option is well stocked with options. The place can be crowded with long waits on Saturday nights. I've waited for at least 15 mins every time I've been here. Service is always good and I've never been disappointed with the pizza. They have some wine offerings and my wife got a bubbly rose that was light and nice.

*This is a 4.5 rating*. You really must be here early (in line by 5pm!) to have a seat at a table or at the bar or, have a reservation in hand. The salads are bountiful, full of baby lettuce, romaine lettuce, yellow and red cherry tomatoes, baby red onion, thinly sliced mushrooms and a lightly seasoned vinaigrette. One salad is good for 2. Salami and green olives pizza was satisfying if not a bit salty for someone not used to using salt. Crust was thin, golden brown throughout, the edge was bubbly and almost marshmallow chewy and charring flavor came through at times. Have had other pizzas as well as the Caesar salad and all were consistent in quality and satisfying flavor. House white wine is okay. Noticed more bottles of the house red being emptied. Good place for families, anyone, and, to go orders (I understand you have to order in person!) Be forwarned...wait time can be 45-60 minutes. Have a glass of wine or beer and enjoy!

Their pizza is very good with flavor combinations that just work; there is no need to add anything to them nor take anything from them. Aside from the pizza the staff is exceptionally great (especially once seated) and they have a decent selections of local beers to fulfill the beer and pizza need.

SIde note: Google estimated the wait time to be 15 minutes we showed up at 6:30pm and the entryway was full of people and they had a 45 minute wait, but they were still able to seat us within 15 minutes.

Five years later and countless pizza joints tested. None, come close to the perfection that is the crust, sauce, and local toppings. We have introduced many visitors to this haven and none have been disappointed. Worth the wait, worth every penny.

My wife and I tried Apizza Scholls which sits right on SE Hawthorne Boulevard. A cool part of coming here is that since we live in Tigard, we get to cross over the Willamette River by means of the incredible Hawthorne Bridge.

We were given the names of several great Portland restaurants by a phenomenal server whom we chatted with during our meal. And this was the one for pizza.

If you are familiar with EAST COAST PIZZA (especially from the New Jersey-New York-Connecticut corridor) then this is the place to eat!

The pizzas are phenomenal: light, crispy, tasty.

We are ready to go back for more!
