Bete-Lukas | Ethiopian Restaurant

Flew into Portland for a weekend trip and this was the first stop for food. We had the veggie sambusas and the vegetarian combo plate. Everything was fantastic. Busy place, but service was quick and friendly.

Been meaning to go here for about ten years but never made it in until last night. Friends from out of town were visiting and they were cool with Ethiopian food. The food and atmosphere of the place was great. We had a a good time and the host came by to check on us to see how our meal was... I think he might have been the owner. The restaurant is on the second floor of the building and I think only stairs are available to get there. Definitely book ahead as it was packed with people and waiting at 6:30p when we arrived.

This place is freaking phenomenal. The fish is a MUST! So many wonderful flavors. I am going to have to roll down the stairs to get out. The host/waiter makes the experience even more enjoyable. I think I need to start a petition to get a second location in Austin!!!

Ate dinner here tonight to celebrate my daughter's birthday. First time for all of us. Service was excellent as was all the meals we chose. A little bit spicy but not too bad. Meats were tender and serving was just right. I'll definitely go back...
