I love this place! I love how the chef/owner communicates with his staff and has come up with creative ideas during the pandemic to keep it fresh. Staff is positive and knowledgeable and dishes are executed perfectly time and time again. Thanks for be a pillar in the culinary scene not just here in PDX but for the rest of the country!
One of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. At first we were intimidated by the price, but found Canard to be unpretentious and completely worth the money. We spent only $60 each including tip for a drink, oysters, bread, a side, a main, and a dessert. Considering everything was extremely delicious, I’d say our money was well spent.
We ordered the duck frites and the duck pancakes and both were incredible. The duck pancakes were so interesting so if you’re wanting something adventurous I’d say go for it!
The Paris Brest for dessert was very fresh and made in-house. I wish we were hungry enough to try a few more of the desserts!
The staff was so friendly! It isn’t a super comfortable place, however, as it is mostly bar/high-top seating.
One of the fine restaurants in Portland! It perfectly blends a great time with awesome food that is incredibly tasty. The place is small but does feature a fair amount of walk up seating. We went without a reservation at 6pm and got one of the last open walk up seats. Overall amazing experience would absolutely go again!
This place is a well-oiled machine and they have it down. Service was a master class- excellent knowledge of the menu and great recommendations, knowing the entrees were taking too long and bringing us a glass of wine to tide us over. Dumplings were the best thing I’ve eaten probably ever. Dessert was a little weird- cinnamon roll with brie in the middle. Maybe try a ricotta or mild goat cheese? I won’t ding them. Everything else was amazing!
Canard is everything I love in a restaurant. It's a place I take people from out of town but just as enthusiastically visit with local friends. I always order oysters and steam burgers, and for my egg lovers, ouefs en mayonnaise consistently delivers a perfect bite. Canard has wine to compliment any mood, why not get a bottle? Cozy interiors and friendly staff make it the perfect place to take a date or your best friend. Enjoy.
