El Palenque Mexican Restaurant and Cantina

A welcome site to the neighborhood! Awesome food, atmosphere and service. They take a lot of pride in what they do. Would give more stars if I could.

Lunch menu looked to be full of good deals. I had the steak fajitas. the food was fresh, fast and delicious. i eat fajitas everywhere, and these were done right. the bar looked well stocked and the place is clean. i always like to support new businesses, this one is conveniently located and i will be back. My server, Fernando, was excellent, prompt, friendly and funny.

Finally, someone came into this locally iconic but sadly empty place and breathed some new life into it. The restaurant home is Albany, OR and they brought some of their friendliest staff over to welcome you to their new place. I have received some wonderful customer service from the people there. Service quality is always top of my list as to whether I will return to a place or not. The food is pretty good too! The Carne Asada Fries on the happy hour menu are worthy, and of course the table side guacamole service is a nice touch. Top that with some warm chips and endless salsa and you’re in business. Happy hour is until 5 and their well liquor is a step up from most of the other local haunts in this area. Give them a try next time you are local. Resides in the old “Old Taco House” location.

I had my first meal here yesterday--spinach enchiladas. The enchiladas were the best I have had, the beans and rice were perfect, as well as the salsa.. Fresh ingredients, great taste, great margarita. Friendly service. I will go again and then again. Try it, you will like it. Excellent Mexican food.
