Han Oak Restaurant

Not only is the service great, but so is the atmosphere. Highly, highly recommend to anyone in the Portland area. I got to try almost everything on the menu and was floored by the creativity and flavor in each dish. If you have not gone here, put it on your list.

This place has earned it's stars. The food is a hit every single time and the ambiance is adorable. There are shared tables in the main kitchen area but also smaller, single family tables in the yard. I prefer the shared tables, they seem to be livelier.

If you have a fancy friend coming to town, this place is sure to impress!

Having dinner here was the highlight of my 3-day trip to Portland. I highly recommend the chef's choice set menu. Every dish was amazing, and I particularly liked the Koji marinated pork belly, Korean fried chicken wings, and the squash with scallion leek butter. Waiters were friendly and attentive. Reservation recommended.

it was definitely a good experience. the waiter was knowledgeable and was able to help with some wine pairings. we did go for the tasting menu but I think if I go back I would select certain items on their own to try. The fermented soybean paste was excellent especially with the carrots. the squash was also very flavorful.
I did not care for the savory waffle
The chicken with ramen flavor was good but not exceptional
The dumplings were really good
The soup was good as well
the dessert left something to be desired

My whole experience was great. It looks like they took down one wall of their restaurant to expand it. So the rest of the seating area is still covered but also feels like you are sitting outside. We tried the tasting menu and ordered some drinks. They all were delicious. I would recommend the tasting menu because I can't decide which one dish is a must -try. They are all good. As for the drink, the belly rub is my absolute favorite drink. It's like a spiked toasted coconut green tea.
