Henry Higgins bagels are unmatched in Portland. I'm sorry to be the dreadful "I grew up in NY" person, but I'm going to do it just because I'm so impressed by these bagels. All through high-school bagels were a breakfast staple and snack as a hungry teen. There were even a few corporate chain stores that had great boiled bagels. But Portland is a deadzone for good boiled bagels. Henry Higgins does it right though. So good. I'd be very sad if they disappeared.
Picked up a Too Good To Go order and it was delicious. Bagels! Wait outside under a tent, only one party in at a time. No indoor seating as of Dec 2021.
I’m from NY and I would say these bagels were pretty good! Not quite a NYC bagel but definitely the best I’ve had in Portland so far. Everything bagel was really tasty.
Great bagels and toppings! I had the whitefish salad, which was delicious, but i have two suggestions for improvement: 1) put the capers Under the tomatoes, so they don't all roll off onto your lap when you take a bite. 2) since you pre-slice the onions, they are a bit fermented by mid-day; if you rinse the onions in cold water just after slicing, they will last a lot longer without developing the 'off' taste.
Best bagels in town, so far! Right by my work, so I go here often. Fresh Pot has their bagels too, so I'll go there sometimes to get one. They do it right.
