Best plant based sushi in all of pdx and probably the only place you can get something like this! Definitely a place to try in Portland if you haven't! Super fresh food. All gluten free and dairy free sushi with a twist!

They even do rice paper for people who don't like seaweed.

I recommend the mountain with a side of spicy mayo. The flavors are amazing!

I love Mitate! I have food allergies so dining out is limited for me. I get very excited when I find a place like this where I can eat anything on the menu. Vegetable sushi is often an after thought at regular restaurants and often bland. Because this is their specialty, the veggie sushi rolls at Mitate are amazing. They are beautiful and full of complex flavors. You can tell they take pride when crafting their menu. The service is wonderful and I always feel that it is worth the 20 minute drive to get their!

I agree with all the other reviews, this place is next level. I’m a huge sushi fan and this is some of the most interesting sushi I’ve ever had. They don’t lean at all on “fake meat” like some vegan food does, the flavors and textures are interesting and delicious all on their own. Plus the staff is lovely. Couldn’t recommend more!

In a good cart park that has decent parking, but not likely enough should things get really busy. All vegan, which is something new for sushi, but not likely a far stretch. Tasty and no animals. 10/10 would go again. My only complaint would be that it's a little pricey. No problems here.

The staff is always so kind and friendly even when it's clearly very busy.
I only wish I could go here more often, but they close at 7 or 8 most days.
