“Considering food did not appear to be their focus, it was very good as bar food goes. A little salty, but I wasn't drinking much (one glass of whiskey) so maybe that saltiness would have come in handy if I'd had 4-6 drinks instead. The staff were very nice and other customers were very good at self-organization around who was next on the pool table, so the place attracts a pretty good crowd around 8:30-9:45pm on Thursday from my experience when my girl friend and I went.”

“You know for many of us nothing beats grand-mom’s cooking but the food here is definitely granny level. Praise the ancestors for this little slice of Thai. Be sure to call ahead however, the owner is the only one taking care of her guest and while it makes access to her food exclusive it is worth it. Ten thumbs up!!!”

“Henry Higgins bagels are unmatched in Portland. I'm sorry to be the dreadful "I grew up in NY" person, but I'm going to do it just because I'm so impressed by these bagels. All through high-school bagels were a breakfast staple and snack as a hungry teen. There were even a few corporate chain stores that had great boiled bagels. But Portland is a deadzone for good boiled bagels. Henry Higgins does it right though. So good. I'd be very sad if they disappeared.”

“Overall a good SB. Cleanliness is spotty but they do clean often as seen in this picture. I think I caught them as they were on rotation as there was some half spilt y’all drink on the floor when I came in. Drinks are 90% correct overall. So a good practice to occasionally check your drink if you’re a regular. Staff are friendly and this store seems to visually embody/match starbucks alignment in that folks from all walks of life are welcome. Conversations behind the counter are always customer first. It’s rare that I’ve experienced a personal conversation present in lieu of customer interest. The SB is of average size but is well maintained. Parking is pretty alright and easy parking for early AM coffee drinkers (6am-8am crowd). Worth a visit and would recommend. I’ve done visits during all hours and would say their best service and “fullness” of their seating/availability is around noon and evenings. Mornings are crazy here, even on weekends.”

I would love to keep the garlic rolls a secret, or find out their secret of these perfectly fluffy rolls. The garlic truffle fries... oh, my! I am not a fries kinda person, but these alone would keep me coming back. I had the everything Philly steak, it was delicious, I would have preferred the roll not be microwaved as it was a little chewy, but I get it. Bottom line, definitely on my list of favorite places to frequent.”

The only awkward thing is that they are located inside of a Chinese market. The wait time wasn’t long 10-15 minutes which is normal. Ordered 2 Cajun chicken pastas, 2 sides of Mac & cheese and a side of garlic mash potatoes. And it was all very good. I live in St. John’s and will definitely be coming back to get more.”

“Sandy’s Myanmar Cuisine provides you with amazingly authentic and tasty gourmet Myanmar food at a very reasonable price. We have ordered and picked up several times from them and they never disappoint. We order ahead of time, sometimes even days ahead, and tell them what we would like to eat warm and what we want to take home in a cooler since we live a good 2 hours’ drive away. My favorites so far are: the amazing Pickled Tea Leaf Salad (also Pickled Ginger salad), Beef curry with coconut rice and sides, Chicken curry with coconut rice and sides, Fish (Hilsa) with rice and sides! Hilsa is normally a bony fish but it is cooked so well the bones melt in your mouth! Each entree is eclectically planned and served with tasty sides to create a fantastic culinary experience! They have a few vegan options as well. The vegetable curry option is a tasty pumpkin with Chayote squash and string beans! Never tasted Burmese food before!? It is time to try some and Sandy’s is a great place to start if you live in and around Portland, Oregon!”
