The donuts are the best I’ve ever had (better than Doe Donuts, Big Wig, Voodoo, and Blue Star)! I wanted to take the black cat home with me. I was petting him and had to say goodbye, but he jumped on me for a hug and started kneading my shirt! So cute, I wish I could adopt him!
Extremely nice people! Young person's hang out, whole in the wall type business. They serve vegan food, even pastries. Very friendly, and customer service is their priority. When they have music, it is loud! They have earplugs to use if you like. We picked up our food to go, and they don't use styrofoam! They use food containers that are recyclable!???????? I will absolutely do business with these people again. Their food is yummy, and I want to check out other items on their menu!
This place is very interesting. It is a bit difficult to find the front door (it's at the back of the building, down some stairs) but once you get inside you will find a very relaxed, and unique atmosphere. The food is good. We went for lunch, and it was not busy, but I know they do live music later, which would be fun to experience.
Food was beautiful and delicious, and the waiter/bartender very friendly. Drinks were reasonably priced as well. It was nice to walk into a restaurant for brunch on a Saturday and not have to wait. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because the waffles, while very tasty, were room temp, and served with cold syrup. Warming the plate or the syrup would have helped with that. We (two adults) split the Smother Plate and Small Waffles and the only thing we didn't like was the "cheeze" sauce (it had a strange flavor I couldn't quite identify). Everything else was great. We will definitely be coming back to try more menu items.
This seems to be the only all-vegan restaurant that I have found in Salem- so far. I drove down from South Salem, so I took this as an opportunity to finally cross the bridge and visit West Salem. Brunch is from 10-3. I came in at 1:00 P.M. There were no lines, unlike "words of Mouth", and I was invited to select my own seat on the patio or indoor. There were about 15 people overall and all were seated outside. I selected a seat inside since I still consider a 60 degree weather, sun or not, a bit chilly.
The atmosphere was funky as what one would expect of an underground late-night punk venue where the clients come for the music and not the ambience. The music venue this month is mostly rock and Indie, but the bartender has seen a jazz band play at times.
The food however, did not disappoint.
I had a pumpkin vegan doughnut which was fresh and moist.
Then I had The breakfast burger: a grilled tofu patty, on top of a chickpea sausage patty, on a gluten free English muffin, with a side of an almond gravy and sauteed greens. All were well prepared and enjoyable. The patties in the burger where a bit salty for my taste, but the greens were perfect with minimal salt and balanced everything out.
I will be back for the food, and maybe the music whenever the owner add jazz to the venue, realizing jazz may not be popular with the locals. The Space gets a 5 for the food.
I downgraded them to a 4 for the difficulty finding the entrance and the ambience and lack of more music variety.
