Van Halen brought the house down. Girls serving were to notch. Thanks for a great night
It's been a few years since they opened and I had a less than stellar experience so I decided to give it another try.
We came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning about two hours after they opened. We were the only customers in the place and only had to wait a few seconds to be greeted. We had our pick of the tables. We grabbed a seat had our coffee delivered and placed our order.
The food came out in a timely enough manner, but the serving sizes were small for the price. My 13 year old ordered a full order of biscuits and gravy and I had the chicken fried steak. Two smallish biscuits and dollop of gravy was $8, my dish was $14 with the steak being more breading than meat. Each of the house coffees were $2.50 (we had one partial refill before our food arrived and an offer for another while we were eating). All total we paid $30 with tip.
The food was OK but I felt it was overpriced when we could get something more flavorful and heartier at a few different places down the road.
The waitress was friendly but looked tired and busy with other duties the majority of our visit.
I gave it another go and will likely never return. I want to support local businesses, but it just doesn't make sense when it's not competitive.
Nice atmosphere, great band playing there (Second chance band) good food. Dance floor. Nice waitresses! Will definitely go back!
Even though nothing really stands out about Diversity Cafe, it is a solid spot for breakfast/lunch and provided us with a very pleasant meal in the Forest Grove area.
The menu here is pretty diverse, offering great options for lunch like burgers, sandwiches, and tacos, but also has many dinner entrees like steak & beef brisket. My favorite thing on the menu were the fish tacos ($11). The salmon was delicious, and the sauce was very light, making it perfect for lunch. It also comes with tortilla chips and salsa! I was pretty disappointed by the chicken wings though. They were probably the most underwhelming wings I've had. I'd recommend to stay away from these.
The big menu is also somewhat misleading as the tacos fall under the "burgers/sandwiches" section, which states that it comes with your choice of fries or tater tots. We ordered the tacos under the assumption that we'd also get tater tots/fries but were eventually charged for them. Thankfully our server was able to take that off for us.
The service here was quick & friendly. I enjoyed my meal and would love to try out the other things on this huge menu. If you're unsure of a place for breakfast or lunch in the forest grove area, this is a great choice!
Really nice place. First time there I live in forest grove new knew I was actually so nice inside. Our waitress was quite nice and helpful and not overbearing. I'll be back . Oh and the food was good also. Not a huge menu but I like that cause it did take the wife 30min. To decide what she wanted. LOL ????
