I loved it from the start. The atmosphere was very cozy, and inviting on New Years Eve! They had a small wood firing going, and were friendly as soon as we came in. The service was quick, and attentive, the drinks were made well and the food even better! Can't wait to return.
We love Rock Creek Tavern. It has a warm, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere. The food and drinks are McMenamins standard fare - which means upscale, good tasting bar food at reasonable prices. The place is packed on December weekends, as families stop in before and after cutting a tree from a local Christmas tree farm. It also has a great summer patio.
Went for the live music and beer. Was happy I did. I’m not a fan of ciders but the blueberry sounded interesting. It wasn’t an overbearing sweet, as it was a soft flavor of the berry. The cider also had a slight tart flavor. I would order it again. The band was amazing!!! I just wish I could have been here in the day, as I hear wonderful things about this place—nevertheless, the evening atmosphere was great as well and luckily, being that it was a chili evening, sitting next to the fireplace was a plus. . Super friendly staff. Love the rustic, cozy feel.
Great atmosphere, super warm and the Band playing was Billy D & the Hoodoos. Loved it. The beer selection was great. Food was good. I only had a ceasar, it was perfect, not heavily saturated with dressing.
My husband had the French Dip and liked it a lot.
Our server was nice but a bit pushy when it came to closing us out; as we were enjoying the music and some down time after our 10 hour drive from California.
Offering to transfer us or letting us know politely she had to close us would have been more favorable instead of rushing us. So we left not feeling welcome to stay.
Been coming here Wednesdays for the last month while my son is at practice. I do enjoy McMenamins overall, but really love this place rustic and in the woods. The smell of a fresh fire in the air. Great service and great food. Best Dilly Tuna ever had and I came back for it. The Turkey Sandwich is fantastic too. Now the beer, it is cold and a great selection of tastiest like all McMenamins. It warms my top rank. Not a sports bar it is a thinking persons bar.
