“Jul 2024 ==> Another visit with friends. This time we focused more on the food. The mushroom soup was just as good as the first time, although saltier than it should have been. The Drunken Chicken special was just average and was smaller than the other items. They made up for it by giving you a mountain of french fries. The Shrimp bowl and the beet salads with falafel were really good. The place was much busier that our earlier visit which did highlight a problem. There are high ceilings and no sound insulation so the noise level was uncomfortable loud. We were in a corner so we could hear each other, but I cannot imagine how those in the center of the eating space could converse? Management should really consider adding some sound deadening materials to the ceiling. =============================== Feb 2024 ==> Had the opportunity to taste the rums and the food at the newly opened distillery and restaurant in Upper St. Clair recently with a group of friends. Learned about it from a news article and decided to give it a try. We made reservations and when we got there found our table all waiting for us. For the rums, they offer a flight for $10. This gives you a quarter ounce pour of each of ten different products that they make. I highly recommend you take advantage of this as it gives you a good overview of their range. They also offer a range of mixed drinks featuring their products and several of us took advantage of that as well. Make sure to ask for any off-menu specials! During our visit, there was a Hot Buttered Rum that was fantastic -but not on the menu!!! They also offer a complete food menu. We really liked the very creamy and rich Mushroom soup. The Farm Burger featured a bacon jam made with their rum, and the Mac and Cheese was also flavorful. Other dishes that went over well included the Chicken sandwich and the cheese plate. The fries that came with some were good but overly salty. Staff was excellent: Welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. Distillery tours are slated to begin sometime in Feb 2024. We left with very satisfied palates and full tummies!”

“If you are looking for a special place for lunch - this is it. The Owl’s nest has absolutely delicious food and great atmosphere. We had brisket and mango salad and both dishes were outstanding. The portions are not huge, but sufficient to leave you satisfied but not heavy. And the honey cake was perhaps one of the best I’ve had - and I have had plenty! We will definitely be back again and will recommend this place to all of our friends!”

“Pretty solid spot for Middle Eastern groceries, but some of the cooked food falls short. They are somewhat often out of things on the menu, without updating it, it seems. But, the food is still pretty alright. I tried the Moroccan cookies, the baklava, the lamb gyro sandwich, and the hummus. Originally, I had ordered basbousa, but they were out of it. So, to make up for it, the gave me the cookies and some hummus (more than enough, so thank you!) The cookies themselves were probably my favorite part of the meal. They were coated nicely with powdered sugar and had a slight date flavor, a grainy texture, and were overall quite good. The hummus was kind of disappointing. It had a strange acidity to it. Honestly, it just didn’t take that fresh or creamy. There also wasn’t any pits served with it. The lamb gyro was also just alright. I had ordered it without lettuce, but it came with lettuce anyways. The meat was fine, not too tender or tough, but probably also not the highest quality. Pita seemed not homemade. Lots of vegetables. Sauce was okay, a little creamy, but not too much. The baklava was not worth buying, in my opinion. It definitely tasted storebought and not made in house. It was stale and quite flavorless. No crunch, no nuttiness, very dry. No syrup. Not that good. I probably won’t be returning to this place for the cooked food. But, the market itself is really nice, so I may come back for that.”

“Great new place! The menu is really tasty. We got French onion soup, French onion burger, chicken Marsala, and kids Mac n cheese. We also had the Georgia estate and the Basil Hayden paper plane cocktails. All of it was well balanced and well made. Despite the great ambiance it was very kid friendly. Was great for a family meal. Could also be a good date night spot. There is a bar you can sit at as well. I strongly recommend you try this new place!”

“As big country music fans we ventured into here for brunch and the night before for the club scene. The night club atmosphere was nice and clean. Felt safe and fun. Tons of great music and sports on the TV’s. Brunch next day was perfect and came out hot and was tasty. Service was top notch. “I ordered the crab cake meal and I must say, they were better than the crab cakes I've ordered in Maryland. They were filled with lump crab meat and barely any filler. Delicious. My friend got Red wine braised short rib and also was impressed. Our server Matt was phenomenal. He explained the menu, was friendly and just great service all the way around. The restaurant is located inside the Sheraton Hotel in Station Square and was classy, clean, and inviting. I'll definitely return!”

“Authentic Uzbek food. Lamb shanks are the must-ordered ones. If u like a bit wet, try the lamb shank noodle soup. If u like a bit dry, definitely the braised one. No bad choices. Appetizers are also tasty. The special fruit drink surprised us. Everything hand made. A bit disappointed that we couldn't get the dessert ms because they were sold out so quickly. Due to the space limit, the air didn't circulate and got warmer when the room is crowded. But the staff noticed that and turned on the air conditioner. It's totally understandable that as a new store the service is a bit slow, but all staff there are warm and responsive for dine in.”

“Finally Shake Shack has arrived in Pittsburgh! 🍔 We visited last Friday night and we waited in line as if we were waiting to get into a nightclub. The location is smaller than I imagined with much less seating than they should have. But despite the table turnover and nonstop orders the restaurant was clean and service was friendly and efficient. We tried the cheeseburger, fries, chicken bites, chocolate shakes and my son had a grilled cheese. Everything was fresh and hot. The cheeseburger tasted great and. I enjoyed the potato bun. The chicken bites were juicy and the breading was really tasty. It was worth the wait for Shake Shack to open. We'll definitely be back!”
