I visited "The Proper Brewing Co." a few weeks after they opened, before they got their kitchen up and running (for any who read this review later on).
Date & Time of Attendance: 12/13/15, 7:00-8:00pm.
Looks:
I walked in and was immediately impressed with the exposed brewing equipment, the clean design and colors of the front dining area, and the huge wrap-around bar, and the exposed air ducts on the ceiling.
Service:
Upon walking in, I was immediately greeted, and ushered towards the bar up past the dining room, which was not yet open. When I sat down, I was given a menu, told about their staple beers, was asked if I had any questions. The rest of the night, both bartenders were extremely personable, and had me laughing and chatting, and always made sure that I had what I wanted.
The Beer:
I am a homebrewer, and I drink craft beer. In other words, my standards are a little higher than most.
That being said, this beer is great..I was blown away by the options they had, the reasonable prices, and the taste and body of their beers. I was very impressed with everything about this place.
Fantastic service. Blonde Ale was my favorite. Clean crisp taste with a nice finish and no off tastes. Food was not your average bar food. Great selection and happy with all our choices. Mushroom flatbread was outstanding. Will definitely come back.
I've gone to the proper multiple times. The best thing about them:
1. FOOD IS ALWAYS GREAT
2. EMPLOYEES ARE FRIENDLY
3. SERVICE IS FAST
What more can you ask for?
OK, so the food was good and the service was attentive. We were seated at a very small table in the dining room and wish we had requested the bar area, which was a better atmosphere. The food was good, but we waited over an hour for 2 sandwiches. This was before 6 on a Saturday and they were not full when we got there. Why does it take so long for 2 sandwiches when the restaurant isn't full?
