The fried Chicken was very tasty. A lot of breading on small chicken pieces. Mashed had a great taste but we're barely warm. Green beans were nice and hot. Fried ham was very very thin and over cooked. Corn bread was very dry and Not sweet. We were there before the rush at 4:45.
The portions are ridiculously small...and the brown gravy tasted like water with an onion thrown in it. Cracker Barrel is headed down the same sad trail as Bob Evans and Kings...working man/woman, affordable, home cooking chains that lost their focus of providing delicious homestyle cooking. Very sad!
Great service from a super friendly staff (even their trainees). Lunch was great both in portion size and flavor. The shop in the front is a bit cluttered to where it is hard not to bump into anything or anyone while you arw waiting.
Cracker Barrel is always a positive experience for me! It is handicap accessible and has handicap parking. The service is always stellar & the food is always fresh & delicious. The menu is varied & you can get breakfast anytime. There are healthy options, vegetarian options, burgers, fish, chicken, ham, soups, salads, & their famous biscuits & cornbread. They also offer dessert. The restaurant is large & easy to maneuver around. Their prices are extremely reasonable. The restaurant is good for families, singles, couples, and groups. I had chicken & dumplings the last time I went & it was mouth wateringly good. My partner had fish, which was perfectly cooked & delicious. One of my favorite parts of Cracker Barrel is their gift shop. I could spend all day browsing in there . They have just about anything you could want & many one of a kind gift items.
The food at all CB is really good. It justifies the wait to get it. But spending time in the gift shop looking at the stuff on the ceiling is cool. It's fun to guess what things are and take pictures there too. Thanks for the fun experience. I'll be back soon. Oh and the fried chicken take out meals are outstanding!!!
